Smiths Wood Community Primary School Kingfisher Primary pupil Scott Aitken helps work get underway on his new school.

Smith's Wood Community Primary School was opened in March 2009 at an overall cost of £8m and is the second new school to be completely re-built as part of the North Solihull Primary School Development Programme.

It represents the combination of two separate primary schools (Bosworth Wood and Kingfisher) and opened as such in September 2009.  It is not only a brand new two form entry school but also includes a new Community Centre managed by the local Parish Council, has Extended Service facilities and an Adult Learning Room.

The school will be central to the new North Arran Way Village Centre.  A new high street will serve the school and form the public realm that will be the gateway to the new commercial and retail outlets combined with new homes for rent and sale.
